Planning
Typically, our guests arrive at Baldface by one of four options:
- Fly to Castlegar, BC (YCG) and take a cab into Nelson.
- Fly to Spokane, WA (GEG) and take the Baldface shuttle or rent a car.
- Drive to Nelson
- Private Charter Flights provided by Kootenay Direct Airlines
Confirmation Package
Once you've booked your trip with Baldface, you will receive a copy of our confirmation package in the mail. If you would like a preview or you need another confirmation form, you can download and print a copy of it here. It contains all of the details for your trip, a copy of our booking policies, maps and driving directions, our guest confirmation form, and a sample copy of the Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, and Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement that you will be asked to sign upon arrival.
Arriving at Baldface
All guests are required to be at the Norman Stibbs Airport in Nelson at the following times (late guests will incur a $200 per person ground transport fee).
Travel dates Check in at Airport
December 15 - February 14 No later than 2 p.m.
February 15 - April 15 No later than 3 p.m.
Return Times
All guests will be returned to the airport after the final day of skiing.
Travel dates Return to Nelson
December 15 - February 14 5 p.m.
February 15-April 15 5:30 p.m.
Prior to your Trip
Prior to arriving at Baldface we suggest you get in a number of days of skiing or snowboarding β especially if you are not able to ski regularly during the season. You may want to arrive in Nelson one or two days in advance and ski at the local ski areas.
Custom Travel Plans
For those who want the convenience of custom travel plans, we can arrange private air transport by plane or helicopter. If your trip to Baldface is being made in conjunction with other skiing, either at local ski areas or with another snowcat or helicopter skiing operation in the area, we may be able to help with your travel plans β just give us a call!
