Typical Day
Arrival at the Nelson Airport
Arrive at the Norman Stibbs airport in Nelson, BC at 2:00 p.m. (before February 15) or 3:00 p.m. (after February 15)
Unload your luggage in the lobby
Park your vehicle along the fence
Sign an insurance waiver
Take a helicopter safety briefing before you fly up to the lodge
If the weather is stormy, you will travel to the lodge by boat and a snowcat
Arrival at the Lodge
- Arrive at the Lodge between 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
- Welcome tour by Baldface staff
- Relax by the fire and enjoy hot soup and a cold drink
The First Evening
- 6:00 p.m. Dinner
- Welcome orientation talk
- 8:30 p.m. Guides set up boards and skis
- Relax, stretch, play pool, cards, ping pong, enjoy drinks at the bar
The Ski Day
- 7:00 a.m. Breakfast
- 8:30 a.m. Gear up and go snowcat skiing. On the first day, your guide will provide a transceiver explanation and hands-on training prior to getting on the slopes
- Lunch, sweet snacks, water, and hot drinks are provided in the snowcat
- Professional photographer joins each group in the cat during the day
- 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Return to the lodge for drinks, soup, hot appetizers, massages and sauna time
- 5:30 p.m. Slide show of the day's events on the big screen
- 6:00 p.m. Dinner
- 8:00 p.m. Darts, drinks at the bar, card games, ping pong, and pool
End-of-trip Transfer Day
Your transfer down the mountain will be by helicopter if the weather is clear or by snowcat if it's not safe to fly. Transfers begin at approximately 2:15 p.m. and we try to have the last group in town by 5:00 p.m. If you are scheduling a flight home, you should not plan on getting to Nelson before 5:00 p.m.!
