Travis Rice wins Redbull Supernatural

February 4 - a day that will go down as transforming snowboarding. Under bluebird skies, Travis Rice was crowned champion with a near flawless run and score of 91. "We're walking away with a different state of mind," says Rice. "This was an experiment and it's the beginning of a new possible future for snowboarding." Announcing Red Bull SUPERNATURAL

Set to take place this February at Baldface, the Red Bull Supernatural contest was officially announced this week by Travis Rice who is aiming to crown the best all-around snowboarder in the world. Travis says, "We scoured everywhere, trying to find the perfect place with the best chance of pulling the contest off. Finally we found an amazing run at Baldface [and they've] really played a huge part in this event coming together. Without the hard work of owner Jeff Pensiero and the whole staff and crew, the event would not be happening this year." Read full story here

Deep snow and Volcom gear testing

Jan 13, 2011 Update 8:30am - Snow, snow and more snow.  Over 100 cm of snow has fallen in the past week and the riding is as good as it gets.  Yesterday the new Volcom guide jackets and pants arrived (http://shop.volcom.com/) and were tested in waist deep powder. The consensus: "amazing gear, worthy of the deepest days"..... This season is shaping up to be one of the best on record, if you have not yet booked your trip, you need to do so!  Currently guests are preparing for another powder day in the zone, the call is 10cm of fresh snow with heavy snow expected this afternoon... and guaranteed face shots.  Hope to see you in BC sooner than later!
