Baldface Photography Service

A professional photographer will join your group to shoot photos, which will then entertain the crowd in the nightly slideshow in front of the fire.

Once guests select the photos they'd like to take home, the photographers process all photos on site and offer CDs and glossy prints for purchase.

With great pride, Baldface introduces Dave Thomas and Yuske Hirota as our official photographers. You will get to know them as they snap your best powder face. Yuske and Dave both share equal passion for photography and powder skiing. They are positive they have the best jobs in the world.

Photographer Bios

Yuske Hirota:

Yuske was raised in Tokyo and has traveld in Alaska, Peru, Patagonia, New Zealand, Nepal with his board and camera. He had been guiding in Japan for 5 years when he first joined the Baldface team as a tail gunner. Since he has also worked as a professonal photographer for Japanese ski & snowboard magazines, making the transition to one of our photographers was a natural progression Some guests call him U-ski, but he's a snowboarder through and through!

Dave Thomas:

Dave -- who has been with Baldface since it began in 2000 -- hails from Vancouver with stops in Whistler and Rossland along the way. Originally hired as a cat driver, Dave would always carry his camera with him, capturing Baldface life in all its glory. The writing was on the wall and for the last five winters he has worked exclusively as a Baldface photographer. His talent behind the lens has allowed him devote his full attention to his passion for photography and powder skiing. "My goal, when shooting with a group, is to capture ordinary people riding in extraordinary circumstances, and make them look like pros."
